Role Overview:
Our company is seeking a skilled Junior engineer/developer who is passionate about developing and supporting a state of the art Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and other internally developed solutions.
The role will be within the System Automation, Intelligence & Learning team whoโ€™s remit is to build innovative solutions for infrastructure, configuration management, tooling and automation.
You will be familiar with a wide range of technologies, including Python, JavaScript, React, and Cloud. (AWS or Azure). You will regularly interact with different stakeholders at all levels in this role, therefore you must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
You’ll also be particularly interested in technologies that involve machine learning, AI, Cloud and data analysis.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Design, development & implementation of innovative solutions for infrastructure, configuration management, tooling and automation
  • Translating designs and requirements into high quality solutions
  • Work with various stakeholders and CI data owners to ensure the quality of the CMDB data is maintained and all Configuration Items are up to date
  • Work with senior engineers and architects to design and develop engineering solutions and improvements for the CMDB and supporting tooling
  • Supports the Configuration manager in the development and maintenance of CMDB policy, processes, and knowledge base
  • Conduct data quality analysis, provide recommendations to address data quality issues, and manage the implementation of approved recommendations
  • Recommend, design, plan, and implement automation to improve the configuration management database (CMDB) processes.
  • Define, create, and manage CMDB queries, health reports, dashboards and other
  • reports as required
  • Provides training and guidance to colleagues on the CMDB. Prepares and publishes Configuration Management job aides as needed, provides input and/or assists with the development or modification of Configuration Management training material
Experience / Competences:
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Interest in AI and Machines learning technologies
  • Knowledge of popular DevOps tools
  • Fast learner with different technologies
  • Understand how to use Git and programming languages such as Python and JavaScript
  • Good communication skills
  • Some proficiency in at least one coding language
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Gitlab
