In the team of programmers in Retirement and Financial Solutions at TELUS Health, the successful candidate will participate in the development and maintenance of a suite of automated work tools in C# or Excel VBA. He/she will have several daily responsibilities that are urgent and require a high level of attention to detail.

The successful candidate will be called upon to work with the business analysts to carry out and execute the work necessary to achieve our objectives. He/she will interact directly with other TELUS Health staff to complete projects and ensure customer and user satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fully understand the business objectives of each assigned project
  • Design, develop, and maintain the software in C#
  • Perform code review and apply good programming practices
  • Take responsibility for the quality of each deliverable and ensure seamless integration with the production environment
  • Provide technical support for incidents to ensure they are resolved effectively
  • Work with business analysts to ensure that the design will meet the requirements
Qualifications
  • Degree in computer science, management information system or related field from an accredited college or university
  • A degree in mathematics, statistics or actuarial science from an accredited college or university would be an asset
Knowledge/skills
  • Proficiency in .Net technologies including C#, WCF, Multithreading, RESTful Services, IIS.
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio
  • Version Control – Git, TFS
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, Object Oriented Analysis, Object Oriented Programming, and Design
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key contacts
  • Demonstrated skills in clear and effective professional communication, both written and oral
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet high-quality control standards
  • Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills, with a strong commitment to being a team player and meeting customer needs
  • Ability to solve complex problems to meet deadlines for deliverables
  • Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency, resourcefulness, responsibility, and accountability
  • Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
  • Bilingual (French and English)
