Job Description

What We Need:
Florical Systems is hiring for an Intermediate Software Tester. As a Software Tester, you will be a vital part of a small team that delivers leading-edge products based on a wide range of technologies. These products are at the core of the world’s largest and most recognized broadcast television operations. Your role will be to validate our software products’ functionality and performance and provide critical feedback to the rest of the team. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to grow and learn in an exciting industry.

This is a non-exempt, full-time position.

What You’ll Do:
Build and execute manual and automated test plans for broadcast television software
Use Atlassian Jira and Gurock TestRail for project and test plan management
Write documents, as needed, to detail test results and installation notes
Write SQL queries and analyze SQL databases (SQL Server, MySQL)
Capture and analyze TCP/UDP network traffic
Edit and update JSON, XML, and similar files
Deploy and manage containers as well as their supporting platforms
Deploy and analyze websites
Install and configure broadcast industry equipment
Install and configure COTS hardware, such as network switches, routers, and servers
Set up and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure in a non-production environment
Participate as a valued member of the Agile development team

What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) or equivalent in computer science or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking
Knowledge and experience with Windows operating systems, preferably Server-class
Experience with installing and configuring operating systems and drivers
Knowledge of SQL queries and transactional databases
Ability to write and communicate at a professional level
Experience with cloud technologies and containers is a plus
Experience with software testing and test automation is a plus
Experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies
Experience with or knowledge of a modern programming language is a plus
Experience with Docker or Kubernetes is a plus
