We are now seeking two Junior Engineer – Electrical to commence work on a Major Project, based in Melbourne. As the Junior Engineer – Electrical, your role will be responsible to produce construction deliverables under the direction of senior engineering staff. The position will be a permanent full-time role commencing in June 2023 and continuing until the completion of the West Gate Tunnel Project.
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities

§ Achieve engineering targets and objectives as defined in the project program.

§ Provide input and be responsible to produce Project Documentation.

§ Display a positive approach to safety and proactively demonstrate UGL’s values

§ Comply with all UGL systems and processes and expected behaviors and standards

§ Excellent relationship-building, problem-solving, negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.

§ Interact with the internal and external Interface and Integration teams.

§ Participate in self-perform electrical discipline team meetings.

§ Create a team culture that fosters high performance and a personal improvement mindset.

§ Adhere to company policies and other applicable laws, regulations, and standards for the workplace.

§ Undertake any ad-hoc projects, initiatives, and tasks as directed by the Line Manager.

 

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Tertiary (Bachelor) degree in Electrical Engineering – Engineers graduating end 2022, or completing study 2023.
  • Newly graduated with some industry experience – 1-3 years
Work Experience
  • Strong competency in English literacy, effective report writing, and computer proficiency – MS Word; Excel; Access & Emails.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, technically curious, and able to provide a customer-focused service
  • Ability to work within project budget, schedule, and resource constraints
Personal Characteristics
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability and willingness to adapt, quickly learn, and use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing structures, processes, information, and /or technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and prioritize demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
  • Committed to HSE in the workplace
  • Flexibility to take on-site travel to client locations when required.
