$26.62 – $42.58 Hourly

$55,360 – $88,576 Annually

Why does the job exist?

Position will provide physical therapy interventions as prescribed by a licensed physician, Interventions attempt to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical impairments.

How does it get done?

Plan, prepare, or carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient’s chart or enter information into computer.

Residents at a long-terms care facility

Ideal Candidate

Ability to provide customer and personal service, knowledge of the English language, service oriented and social perceptiveness.

Minimum Qualification

Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of New Mexico OR eligible to be licensed in New Mexico before date of hire.

Employment Requirements

Safety Sensitive position, licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in New Mexico, HIPPA training

Working Conditions

State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.

Work is performed in a long-term facility, with extended periods of walking, standing, and bending.
