As a member of our office-based Sales Development team, you will connect with customers via telephone and email (amongst other digital methods!) to generate and qualify sales leads for outstanding products & services. Our high-quality work provides the foundation for optimal customer engagement to surpass our sales expectations.

Reports to: Sales Development Supervisor

What will you do?

  • Establish an understanding of the organization’s offering and build interest by understanding the needs of the customer and offering appropriate solutions.
  • Efficiently utilise resources to accurately record daily activities (Salesforce.com) and help drive high quality sales opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Handle sales related inquiries from various inbound/outbound programs with persistent focus to improve customer-facing time and achieving call and revenue targets.
  • Utilise internal and external data to conduct research on organisations and contacts to help initiate sales from/to prospective and or existing customer base.
  • Uncover needs through discovery to resolve the best solutions based on a customer needs analysis
  • Adhere to policies and procedures and ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment.
  • Actively participate in collaborative forums to share market trend insights, competitor intelligence, customer feedback, learning / expertise.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, in science related field
  • Some previous work experience in a commercial environment – sales experience helps!
  • Coachable with a thirst to learn, highly motivated and driven!
  • Capacity to absorb sophisticated information and apply it accurately and quickly
  • Goal and results oriented
  • Experience and ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships
  • Knowledge and experience with business software applications including MS Outlook Suite (Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel,) and virtual communication tools required.
