Position Overview
The role is in the Data and Process Management Organization within the Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division. We are looking for an experienced, ambitious, and self-driven Software Architect to help us fulfill the mission of the organization which is to drive our current and new efforts in the mission for data platform unification as a key stakeholder and a strong influencer. As part of the team, you will play a strategic role in designing and building exceptional front-end solutions for our existing and future customers, as well as frameworks and tools for internal development teams. Besides leading architecture design, requirement analysis, and technical decision-making, this role will also spend a significant amount of time on hands-on implementation. Preference for candidates located in North America (Pacific Time through Eastern Time zones).
Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership within the organization by creating high-quality architecture designs, leading technical discussions, providing technical solutions, and communicating architectural values
  • Work closely with product managers, frontend architects, UX architects, and other stakeholders to translate overall business needs, system architecture and product requirements into well-document development requirements, lead the team for implementation of those requirements
  • Lead complex technical discussions and critical decision-making across internal and external organizations and virtual teams, influence architectural decisions
  • Ensure the solution implementations achieve the desired quality attributes, such as performance, security, scalability, extensibility, accessibility, and resilience
  • Act as a role model for applying software development best practices and coach less experienced developers
  • Mentor new developers on new technologies and career paths.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other relevant engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience as a hands-on front-end architect
  • 15+ years of professional experience developing commercial web, or mobile client-server-based experiences
  • Demonstration of high levels of ownership and accountability
  • Broad knowledge of frontend development tools, languages, and frameworks, understanding their appropriate application
  • Excellent knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Hands-on understanding of the latest paradigms in Frontend Development such as Pub-Sub Pattern, State Management, Service Workers, Web Components, Client Caching, Lazy Loading, Dynamic Injection, Bundle Optimization, Reactive Design, Microfrontends, Module Federation
  • Experience building out fully automated development workflows, including validation, adherence to best practice guidelines, builds, and deployments
  • Experience building progressive and hybrid applications
  • Experience with AWS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
