The CAP Web Team is primarily responsible for the support, upgrade, and maintenance of the college’s Drupal-based web environment and for running various process improvement projects. The team manages 45 domains and has recently built and deployed a multi-site Drupal 9 environment. The majority of our focus is the support, migration, and decommission of the remaining Drupal 7 domains as well as ongoing development and support of the new Drupal 9 platform. Additionally, the CAP Web team will be engaged to provide process automation solutions for the college, utilizing the Microsoft stack, particularly leveraging Sharepoint, Dataverse, and the Power Platform to aid in these smaller projects.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Web Developer to provide support and develop web and business solutions within the CAP Web Team. This is a newly established position to deliver projects and contribute to process improvement. The Web Developer will report to the Web Team Lead and works closely with our Schools, Centres, Regional Institutes, and Professional staff to support and provide solutions to our web-based systems.

In this role, you will:

Support the transition of our websites to the Drupal 9 platform
Update and maintain CSS and view-based improvements across our Drupal 9 platform
Monitor our functional inbox and service queues and provide support to our web users
Identify and assist in the development and delivery of process automation using the Microsoft Power platform

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field with experience in web development and design. Or similar qualifications/certifications with relevant work experience.

We’re looking for:

Experience with the development and support of Drupal CMS (Drupal 9 and Drupal 7)
Working knowledge of Unix/Linux systems using the Drush command line
Demonstrated skills in web design using PHP and CSS
Familiarity with software version control management via GIT or similar
Exposure to the DevOps framework and agile work planning
Other desirable skills:

Experience using the Microsoft Power Platform
History of matching development to business and process improvement initiatives
