IT Manager

IT Manager– our client with locations in Alberta and Saskatchewan is seeking an IT manager with information management knowledge and hands-on IT operations experience to ensure smooth operations of the organization’s IT information, IT infrastructure, ERP system, and reporting systems.  Ideal candidate will have wide breadth of technology knowledge including BI and demonstrated success in using technology/software to increase efficiency and reduce manual processes. Working onsite from their head office in west Edmonton, the manager will be reporting to the CFO and be responsible to plan, budget, and set direction for IT and related infrastructure for the organization, as well as perform hands on duties when required.

 

Duties include:

• Resolve complex issues relating to business requirements and objectives
• Perform complex analysis, design, and implementation to meet business requirements.
• Analyze, develop and implement testing procedures, programming and documentation
• Analyze, design and develop modifications and changes to existing systems to enhance performance
• Liaise extensively with external or internal clients
• Ensure budgets are adhered to and deadlines are met
• Keep up to date with technical and industry developments
• Lead in the support of IT and communication infrastructure
• Lead in the maintenance, management, and modification all software systems and applications
• Manage IT operations providing technology leadership to help organizational growth
• Manage IT staff
• Interface with end-users and external software consultants

 

Environment:

• Windows Server, O365, SQL Server, VM, Windows workstations
• GPS integration, Bistrack, HTML, Crystal Reports

 

Mandatory Requirements Include:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, or equivalent experience;
• Min. of five (5) years’ experience in senior IT infrastructure role
• Experience with hands-on team lead/management role
• Business process change experience
• Proven leadership ability – able to keep complex initiatives moving and on-course;
• Experience with VM and cloud-based environment
• Strong understanding of business processes to analyze complex business problems and provide IT solutions
• Good knowledge/understanding and desire to leverage tools/software to enhance organizational efficiency
• Proven ability to communicate with all levels of the organization as well as with external sources
• Demonstrated ability and desire to work in fast paced environment
• Self-starter
• Proven ability to adapt quickly to a changing business landscape

 

Desirable Requirements Include:

• Good understanding of how BI can help organizational efficiency and decision making
• Experience with HTML and SQL Server development environment
• Experience with Hyper-V
