Job Description

Canalys is looking for a Market Research Analyst to join its Global Mobility team. The successful applicant will be based in our Reading office and will be responsible for supporting the EMEA smart device research, focusing on smart devices, consumer IT channel, smart device ecosystem and emerging tech. The individual must be results-oriented, hungry to drive innovation within the research service, ready to implement ideas, and work with team members to drive customer success. The individual will be part of a globally dispersed team, and must be able to manage working with colleagues, clients and senior executives from around the world.

As Market Research Analyst, you will support our world-renowned mobility industry research and will be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Working with the team to contribute toward global research needs, including databases, reports and projects, as well as keep up to date on industry trends.
  • Processing quarterly data, forecasting and analysis within Canalys’ mobility research services as well as custom research projects.
  • Taking responsibility for reports on vendor performance, global market trends, macro-economic forces, etc.
  • Conducting face-to-face and desk research on areas of smart device, mobility ecosystem, and technology channels.
  • Collecting and consolidating information across various supporting databases including financial results, key economic metrics and business demographics.
  • Engaging with clients, including presenting to clients on a regular basis, as well as responding to client inquiries.
  • Contributing to social media output highlighting Canalys research.

What is required of a candidate?

  • A bachelor’s degree or a non-graduate who can demonstrate skills, experience, ambition or interest that suits the role
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word are essential.
  • Show a strong aptitude for technology. Be acquainted with current market trends and have a keen understanding of the future direction of the market.
  • Basic understanding of the company’s financial statements.
  • Strong English language skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Fluency in another language would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work both independently and in small teams.
