£43,452 to £44,452 per annum (Inclusive of London Weighting Allowance)

Are you an experienced PR and media relations expert, looking for a new opportunity?

 

We are looking for a National PR Manager to manage our talented team of national PR officers at Royal British Legion and lead on raising the profile of our campaigns, services and fundraising events, including our famous Poppy Appeal.

If you’re driven and creative, have a track record in motivating and inspiring a team to deliver exceptional PR results on a breadth of subjects, have a bulging book of national journalist contacts and know how to package up a story to get cut through, this could be the role for you!

You’ll be part of a friendly, social team, and will play a vital role in supporting people in the Armed Forces, veterans and their families by helping us to raise Royal British Legion’s profile, awareness of our services and campaigns, and the importance of Remembrance in the national press.

The successful candidate will write and edit with flair, be able to spot a news story a mile off and have strong project management and organisational skills. You’ll be an experienced line manager and feel confident running a busy press office, responding to reactive media enquiries, as well as devising and delivering compelling PR plans that align with our strategic objectives.

 

You’ll have proven experience of media relations, public relations or journalism within a high-profile national organisation and you’ll be proficient at briefing and supporting spokespeople to deliver on-message interviews as well as influencing and working with a range of internal and external stakeholders

Reporting to the Head of PR and working closely with the Regional PR Manager, you’ll have an awareness of industry trends and be confident in measuring PR success.

You will be contracted to our London Haig House Hub. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, but with a minimum expectation of two days per week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.
