Job Summary: The Project Manager oversees all aspects of key Engineering and Manufacturing based projects for both internal and external customers. Project management responsibilities center on leading teams to deliver projects on time within budget and within scope. Manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to quality and control guidelines throughout the full project life cycle to include management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible. Evaluate, select, and apply standard project management techniques to product line engineering based projects. Monitor and summarize project progress. Communicate with key stakeholders and senior management regarding project status. Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project outcomes. Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and lead project-based teams to successfully execute assigned projects and facilitate collaboration across departments
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment ensuring a project is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs
  • Meet with internal and external customers to clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Develop project scopes and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility; determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards
  • Develop comprehensive project plans
  • Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, sequencing project elements
  • Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; delegating project tasks based on personnel strengths, skill sets, and experience levels
  • Measure project performance utilizing appropriate systems, tools, and techniques; maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommend actions; perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Determine applicable project documentation requirements and ensure comprehensive documentation of all aspects of a project
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, senior management, and key stakeholders
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree including a minimum of 5 years of proven work experience in engineering based Project Management

OR

Other Technical Degree with a minimum 10 years of proven work experience in engineering based Project Management

  • PMP certification
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down business and technology organizations
  • Proven ability to work in a fluid environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective; flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with process analysis and improvement
  • Demonstrated decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities
  • Strong experience presenting to key stakeholders and senior management
  • Demonstrated communication skills: both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management
  • Technically competent with various engineering based and project management software programs; experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning tool preferred
