Recruit4staff is proud to be representing their client, a leading plastic company in their search for a Shift Manager to work in their leading facility in Deeside.
For the successful Shift Manager, our client is offering:
- £42,900 Per Annum
- Rotating shift pattern over 7 days: 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights) 7AM – 7PM and 7PM to 7AM
- Permanent position
- Immediate start is available.
- Employee Assistant Programme
The role – Shift Manager:
- To support the Production Manager in the day-to-day running of the production operation, assisting with the scheduling and supervision of activities of the team;
- Undertake health and safety assessments; ensure correct PPE is issued and always worn.
- Set and review daily performance targets with operators.
- Measure & challenge performance targets at agreed intervals throughout the shift
- Conduct regular MDI level 1 meetings to monitor performance and investigate downtime & waste issues as they occur providing preventative actions where possible.
- Implement changes to improve efficiencies in all Production Departments in conjunction with the Production & CI Manager and Production Improvement Coordinator.
- Report quality issues
- Report machine breakdowns to maintenance & raise in SAP.
- Responsible for the general discipline of the shift by managing time and attendance, monitoring absence and return to work interviews. Monitor and control breaks.
- Control manning levels across all shifts.
- Review and monitor training requirements for the team.
- Take part in continuous improvement activities, 5s, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Site security – including closing the factory in line with shift patterns.
- Work a rotating pattern and demonstrate flexibility to cover other shifts when required.
What our client is looking for in a Shift Manager
- Experience in a similar role – ESSENTIAL
- Strong people management skills – ESSENTIAL
- Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing processes – ESSENTIAL
- Experience working in plastics manufacturing – DESIRABLE
