The Department of Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk streamlines processes with cutting-edge practices, makes voting opportunities more accessible to all eligible voters, decentralizes business filings, and oversees regulatory compliance. With a current budget of nearly $215 million and over 1,100 budgeted positions, the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk conducts and oversees many important election and record-related functions for the County of Los Angeles.
The position of the Assistant Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk directs the Candidate and Voter Services Bureau, which has over 240 budgeted positions. This bureau oversees the administration and operations for conducting regularly scheduled, consolidated and special elections. Additional operations include official canvassing, campaign disclosures, voter registration database management, vote-by-mail, and petition processing.
