Summary :
As our Chief People Officer, you will provide leadership and strategy by overseeing all aspects of HR, including hiring, retention, development, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and HR policies and procedures. This position will require you to report in person to our Akron and Cleveland, Ohio, locations.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
Employee Relations: ï‚·
Evaluates Firm culture and recommend changes to promote a high level of
employee morale and retention while accomplishing Firm goals and objectives ï‚·
Creating and maintaining a positive workplace culture that fosters collaboration,
engagement, and employee satisfaction ï‚·
Directing the development of long-range planning of Human Resource
programs and objectives. ï‚·
Lead Human Resources activities supporting mergers/acquisitions. ï‚·
Collaborating with the leadership team to set strategic goals and make informed
decisions as it relates to HR ï‚·
Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and legal updates to ensure
compliance and continuous improvement

Recruiting & Onboarding: ï‚·
Working with the Talent Acquisition and Marketing team to oversee all Firm-wide
recruitment activities ï‚·
Creates and implements recruitment selection process policies and procedures ï‚·
Approves all candidates and participates in all Firm personnel’s decision-making
and hiring process. ï‚·
Leverage data analytics to recommend and implement continuous process
improvements to enhance results ï‚·
Oversee all stages of the candidate experience (including application,
interviews, and communication) with a commitment to service excellence. ï‚·
Manage the Applicant Tracking System and all other selection and onboarding
systems. ï‚·
Manage and support the development of recruitment team members. ï‚·
Develops and oversees the firm’s use of applicant testing, background checks
and employment verifications ï‚·
Oversee the offer letters to applicants ï‚·
Manages all aspects of new employee onboarding and orientation

Performance Management: ï‚·
Establishes, maintains, and updates job descriptions for all positions ï‚·
Oversee the development of training programs and career paths ï‚·
Manages annual and mid-year review process ï‚·
Prepare all year-end data and salary information for Firm personnel; schedule
reviews and send information with timeline and agenda to department heads. ï‚·
Tally, track, and report performance measurements (i.e., realization, chargeable
hour budgets, etc.) ï‚·
Management of personnel files with up-to-date information for personal contact
information, performance evaluations, annual independence forms, non-compete agreement, background checks, etc.

Benefits Administration: ï‚·
Manage the financial aspect of benefit plan administration for health, dental,
short-term disability, life insurance, 401(k), Section 125, and COBRA. ï‚·
Manages benefit package, enrollment, and related information. ï‚·
Scan and maintain electronic files for benefit enrollments, changes, and
terminations. ï‚·
Maintaining a benefit eligibility schedule and sending information to the team
members regarding enrollment eligibility and open enrollment reminders. ï‚·
Ensures compliance with applicable regulations (HIPAA, ACA, etc.) ï‚·
Complete annual census information
Compensation and Benefits: ï‚·
Annual review of benefit plans and obtain competitive bids for renewals; develop
and implement new personnel benefit programs. ï‚·
Maintains and updates compensation for all positions using a competitive market
data ï‚·
Maintains records of employee benefit plan participation related to personnel
transactions such as new hires, promotions, performance reviews, and
terminations

Continuing Education (CPE): ï‚·
Works with Managers and Staff on managing all aspects of continuing education
for the Firm to ensure annual requirements are met for professional staff under
Firm goals and budget ï‚·
Operates system to track CPE costs and related expenses ï‚·
Reviews and modifies course content of CPE programs, researches options, and
make recommendations

Compliance and Training: ï‚·
Responds to inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs ï‚·
Researches, initiates, develops, and implements new personnel policies as
appropriate ï‚·
Preparation of all employee separation documentation, including exit interviews ï‚·
Maintains and updates Employee Handbook following applicable employment
laws and guidelines. Consults with legal counsel to ensure that policies are
compliant with federal and state law ï‚·
Communicates and interpret new or revised policies to all employees ï‚·
Presents Firm history, strategic plan, and current hot topics/issues at all new staff
orientation sessions ï‚·
Ensures compliance with applicable regulations (FLSA, HIPAA, etc.) ï‚·
Utilizes employee surveys, exit interviews, and other feedback mechanisms to
create action plans to better the Firm

Education and Experience ï‚·
Bachelor in business or Human Resources (or equivalent). Minimum ten (10) years
HR experience with hands-on benefits program administration and other HR
functions. PHR Certification preferred. ï‚·
Proven experience in HR leadership ï‚·
Knowledge of employment laws and regulations ï‚·
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills ï‚·
Preferred experience in a professional services firm
