Job Description

Boston University Medical Group (BUMG) is committed to transforming healthcare as an integrated academic multi-specialty group practice that defines and delivers equitable, high value, evidence-based care in partnership with our patients, institutions, and community. The Administration department is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the operational standards and programs that support the performance and strategic plan of BUMG. Administration also staffs and supports BUMG board and non-board committees and councils. Additionally, Administration facilitates and manages the relationship between BUMG, Boston University School of Medicine and the Chief of Medical Office/ Medical Affairs to support and promote BUMG faculty through HR benefit offerings, onboard/off boarding and committees/councils.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Day-to-day management of all project operations, activities, milestones and logistics within a given project
  • Develop and drive project work plan from beginning of project lifecycle to end
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate project progress and updates to team members and stakeholders
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and develop contingency plans
  • Deliver high-quality work products in a timely manner
  • Draft and submit budget proposals to management when appropriate
  • Optimize available resources and manage to project goals
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members
  • Communicate due dates and work with team members to mitigate issues and delays when they arise
  • Provide coordination between departments across the medical campus in support of the strategic objectives of committees/councils
  • Manage large scale, campus wide events that support the initiatives of committees/councils; award ceremonies, national speakers, and professional development seminars

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Project Management Certification (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a minimum 5 years work experience with at least 3 years of direct project management experience, including managing all aspects of process development and execution.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Strong project management skills, including being detail-focused and managing towards aggressive timelines
  • Strong understanding of the mission of BMC, the diverse patient population served and the complexities faculty face in providing exceptional care without exception
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Brings a continuous improvement mindset to daily work
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and teams and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management and other departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Visio) and Smartsheet
