Goodwill of Finger Lakes is seeking an exceptional leader to be responsible and accountable for providing strategic vision and leadership in the development and implementation of best-in-class human capital strategies and programs, recognizing the changing environment and the need for exceptional execution in a competitive market. The Chief People Officer will be responsible for the full HR function and people strategy, including acting as a champion of GFLs culture, driving key HR practices and initiatives, elevating team member engagement, and providing strategic direction and expertise, specifically related to employee experience and success, succession planning, talent recruitment, onboarding and development, change management, organizational and performance management, training, compliance, benefits and compensation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates an environment and culture that focuses on fulfilling our mission, vision, and values.
Acts as an advisor and partner to the executive leadership team with regards to leadership, coaching, engagement, DEI & B efforts, organizational design, change management, and learning & development.
Develops and executes people-related strategies that are in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization.
Drives talent strategies through progressive and innovative human capital strategies.
Leverages a strategic mindset and significant executive experience to inspire and shape the direction of our mission-driven people-focused efforts.
Promotes inclusion in the workplace and reinforces our position as a diverse, equitable, and inclusive employer.
Leads our employer branding efforts, ensuring our employer brand is complimentary to the brands and is effective in attracting talent.
Develops and maintains a comprehensive compensation and benefits strategy that enables Goodwills to recruit and retain Team Members at all talent levels.
Leads and develops a People & Culture team, focusing on their development to deepen their impact on Goodwill.
Ensures HR policies and procedures reinforce a high-performing, innovative and mission-driven culture.
Manages and tracks all Team Member performance against goals for the continual growth and continuous improvement of all Team Members.
Implements HR metrics around culture leadership and Team Member engagement.
Drives a culture of performance, results, and positive Team Member relations across all levels of the Organization.
Enhances the organizations learning and development initiatives, including training, upskilling, Team Member development, mentoring programs, etc.
Works with the CFO in benefits management, including strategy, development, and administration.
Maintains an effective program of compliance with laws and regulations related to human resources.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Training: Undergraduate degree in organizational leadership, human resources, finance, or equivalent experience. Graduate degree preferred. SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), HRCI Senior Professional (SPHR) or Professional (PHR) certification desirable.
Experience: 7+ years experience as a high-level human resources leader or another role responsible for achieving organizational strategic goals, dealing with sensitive personnel issues, and making presentations regarding organizational issues and initiatives. At least 5 years serving as most senior human resources executive or their organization.
Experience working in or with complex, fast paced organizations with mission-focused cultures; re-engineering operations and processes; developing new strategies; and leading change initiatives.
Intellectually sharp and clearly capable of thinking on his/her feet while demonstrating outstanding business judgment along with a passion for mission-centric outcomes.
Be a cultural leader – ability to Inspire, motivate, and develop subordinates to their full potential around shared goals and values.
Demonstrated experience in employment law, regulatory knowledge, and reporting compliance.
Technology savvy, understanding how the effective use of technology can enhance the employee experience and drive efficiencies throughout the human resources function. Proficiency with Office 365 products required. ADP Workforce Now and Asana is helpful.
The ability to fully engage the workforce to ensure consistent commitment to the organizations mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. Ideally with a track record of decreasing large staff turnover and implementing systems and policies that drive increased retention.
