The Digital Marketing Executive will assist in the formation, execution, and management of digital marketing activities to support the digital assets of Adler and Allan and other companies within the Group. This multichannel role spans website, SEO, PPC, social media, and email. A core focus will be delivering effective Google Ads campaigns and establishing robust reporting structures to produce measurable results.

 

This is a full-time post with defined contractual hours of 37.5 hours per week, with a one-hour lunch break. This is a guide, and the marketing team operates a flexible approach to working hours to accommodate priorities and variance in demand.

This is a hybrid role, with 2 days a week working from Head Office in Harrogate and 3 days working from home.

 


Your day will look like this:

Assist in the delivery of digital marketing activities to:

  • Attract relevant traffic to the website (and other digital assets), engage prospects throughout the buyer journey, and generate leads to drive new customer acquisition.
  • Enhance cross-sell and upsell opportunities with existing customers.

 


PPC advertising

Lead the delivery of Google Ads campaigns for a wide range of services, while critically evaluating performance to ensure we are maximising return on investment.

  • Contribute to a detailed review and restructure of legacy Google Ads accounts.
  • Work with internal stakeholders at all levels to establish processes for capturing, tracking, and reporting on digital leads from ad impression through to revenue generated.
  • Responsible for campaign planning, setup, activation, and ongoing optimisation (with agency support).
  • Manage day-to-day agency relationships to get the best out of this support and find a suitable balance of in-house vs outsourced resource.
  • Understand a wide range of services and determine the best way to structure accounts without negatively impacting performance of brands across the Group.
  • Perform regular analysis and evaluate PPC campaign performance to identify opportunities and flag issues, making recommendations as appropriate.

 


Search engine optimisation

Help to plan and implement an effective SEO strategy for the Group to improve visibility in relevant online searches and increase organic traffic.

  • Work alongside the agency and wider marketing team to build and deliver our SEO strategy, using your knowledge of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO to influence this process.
  • Undertake keyword research to find the terms our customers are searching for and use this insight to align site content, especially high-value pages (e.g. homepage and service pages).
  • Analyse website structures and review site audits to identify gaps or risks.
  • Apply day-to-day recommendations, either by using website CMS or instructing developers.
  • Perform regular analysis and evaluate organic performance to identify opportunities and flag issues, making recommendations as appropriate.

 


Social media

Distribute high-quality content for a B2B audience on a regular basis via our social media channels, while also advising on potential content opportunities in the digital landscape.

  • Manage corporate social media channels (primarily LinkedIn, but also Twitter) to drive engagement.
  • Source raw content from wider marketing team and translate this for social media by optimising visual assets, language, and format according to best practice.
  • Monitor social media activity relevant to our brand to stay informed about industry trends and audience behaviour, highlighting any opportunities or risks.
  • Perform regular analysis and evaluate social media performance to identify opportunities and flag issues, making recommendations as appropriate.

 


Email marketing

Support in running email marketing campaigns and maintain email lists for an effective cadence of consistent, relevant, and engaging communication with contacts.

  • Use email marketing platform to build and send emails for a variety of campaigns.
  • Continually review design and layout in line with best practice to optimise for engagement and experience.
  • Work with wider marketing team to identify topics, plan send dates and keep the email calendar up to date.
  • Proof, edit and write compelling email copy and attention-grabbing subject lines.
  • Compile and clean email lists to maximise deliverability.
  • Perform regular analysis and evaluate social media performance to identify opportunities and flag issues, making recommendations as appropriate.

 


Website maintenance

Use the content management system to administer the website and help bring new functionality to the live environment through the web development pipeline.

  • Update content, add new pages, upload files and mange users (via Umbraco).
  • Together with wider marketing team, write and edit copy that is optimised for SEO and CRO.
  • Build new sites using the bespoke site generator functionality.
  • Conduct regular site audits to identify and fill content gaps, decommission content that is no longer required, and suggest ways to maximise CRO.
  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager and agency to continually improve the website and develop new functionality for a better user experience.
  • Perform regular analysis and evaluate web performance to identify opportunities and flag issues, making recommendations as appropriate.

Other

  • Monitor competitor and industry activity and draw insight that could inform our strategies.
  • Leverage a suite of analytics tools to guide data-driven decision-making and facilitate the production of reports for the Head of Marketing and wider business.
  • Be eager and willing to become a student of the business, constantly learning about the specialism and people to deliver more powerful marketing activity.
  • Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing.

 


How you can help us with your experience:

  • Proven experience either as a Digital Marketing Executive or similar role, or at a Marketing Assistant level looking for the next step up in your career.
  • You will be technically astute and critical thinker, matched by the ability to express creativity in your work and craft compelling communication for our audience.
  • Excellent understanding of digital marketing channels and best practices, especially in a B2B environment.
  • Outstanding grasp of written communication for digital channels and a great verbal communicator.
  • Knowledge and experience of running Google Ads campaigns from start to finish.
  • Knowledge and experience of SEO with an understanding of on-page, off-page, and technical aspects.
  • Knowledge and experience of managing LinkedIn and Twitter for a B2B audience.
  • Knowledge and experience of using website content management systems (Umbraco would be a plus).
  • Problem-solving skills and able to engage stakeholders to implement solutions where required.
  • Comfortable working as part of a wider marketing team and collaborating closely with colleagues.
  • Good time-management skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enjoy taking genuine ownership of your work and pride in performance to make a real impact.
  • Familiarity with a range of marketing platforms/tools, for example: Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, Force24, Semrush, Hootsuite, etc.
  • Any familiarity with web technologies (e.g. HTML/CSS) and/or design (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud) would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Clean UK driving licence.(preferred due to occasional travel)
  • Right to work in the UK.
