The purpose of this role is to effectively and increasingly use PR as a brand awareness and marketing tool for our multiple LOBs, products and services of Questrade Financial Group. This role will help us build a positive image and awareness for Questrade Financial Group, its brands and products.The person in this role will be responsible for the strategy, collaboration, execution and measurement of PR & Media Relations Campaigns, with the goal of building and enhancing a favorable image of our company with employees, potential candidates, clients, potential customers, influencers and the public.

Working with multiple internal stakeholders and AOR our Public Relations Manager (PR Manager) will nurture a strong industry/media network, increase awareness and develop an enviable company image by developing and executing effective communication and media relations strategies.This is a role that touches a number of teams throughout the organization, and requires strong partnerships with our Product Management, Brand, Design, Data and Analytics, and Marketing Communications teams.The individual in this role will create and grow a favorable public image for our brand/company by communicating news, accomplishments and/or points of views. They will field media questions and pitch stories to the media, prepare media kits and organize press conferences/events as needed. In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Have passion for Questrade’s unique position in the market and can help draw attention to our brand and our missionCoordinate public relations activities for both our consumer facing brand and our employer brandDevelop a PR plan including strategy, goals, budget and tacticsDevelop a media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online mediaLeverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within media and key influencersManage media inquiries and interview requestsCreate talking points for Questrade spokespeopleCreate content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentationsMonitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basisEvaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.Build thought-leadership opportunities to grow awareness and reputationMaintain a keen understanding of industry trends and make appropriate recommendations regarding strategy surrounding themWork with our social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new mediaGenerate non-traditional ideas, experiential events to further amplify our campaigns and product launchesCollaborate with key stakeholders to ensure all relevant PR content is on-brand, accurate, and consistent in positioning and tone of voiceWork with other members of the creative team (writers and designers) to generate fact sheets, infographics and other visual elements for distributions are YOU our next PR Manager? You are if…5-7 years experience in public relationsProven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national levelExperience in briefing and managing company spokesperson for both broadcast and print media interviewsExceptional writing and editing skillsSolid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.Event planning experienceBA/MA degree in Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related disciplineVery strong organization and prioritization skills.Ability to work within tight and/or changing deadlinesEffective relationship building skills with the ability to work well at all levels of an organization and interact confidently with senior managementStrong presentation skills and ability to rationalize ideas to stakeholdersRigorous attention to detailBrownie points if…Brokerage or financial services experienceProficient in French, Mandarin or CantoneseSounds like you?
