About this opportunity:
Cenovus is currently looking for a Production Engineer/Technologist, Production Forecasting – CHO to join our Calgary team!
Reporting to the Manager, Conventional Heavy Oil Production Engineering, the Production Engineer/Technologist, Production Forecasting – CHO will be focusing on forecasting.
Your primary responsibilities will include production forecasting for oil, gas and other streams for all CHO assets and the associated data analytics. This role will have you working closely with a multi-disciplinary team and using your strong collaboration, project management and technical skills.
There will also be opportunities to expand the role into other Production Engineering duties.

Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility for forecasting oil, gas, and other product streams from CHO assets
  • Data analytics/dashboard creation and management to support forecasting
  • Assist in strategizing to achieve production, cash flow and ESG targets
  • Collaborate closely with your Production Engineering colleagues, and other teams such as Operations, Asset Development, Reservoir, Production Accounting, Field Data Capture, Air Emissions etc.
  • Depending on your skill set and career aspirations, learn other aspects of Production Engineering to provide assistance, back-up coverage and/or manage assets as area Production Engineer
Qualifications:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) accredited with APEGA, eligibility to acquire status within 24 months, OR Professional Technologist…
  • Minimum of 4+ years of Engineering or Technologist experience with prior experience on production, reservoir, facilities, and/or operations engineering
    • Consideration will be given to keen individuals with less than 8 years of experience but have a strong technical background in oil and gas with a reputation of showing aptitude to learn quickly, balance their priorities and work well with others.
  • Proficiency in data analytics including PowerBI and/or Spotfire is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail, and ability to QA/QC, sense-check, refine, present, and gain buy-in to your results.
  • Demonstrated capability to learn new concepts quickly in a change-filled environment.
  • Strong work ethic and curiosity; desire to see continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Skilled in petroleum engineering software including AccuMap; experience with PVR, Salesforce, SCADA are assets
