The Social Media and Editorial Associate is a creative, driven, and passionate individual who is responsible for the daily management and content creation for Stanford Live’s organic social media channels. This position also oversees photography and digital show program notes. Must be detail-oriented and able to shift focus quickly to keep up with the fast-paced environment of a live event-based arts institution. This role works closely with the programming team and is under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Communications.

In this role, you will:

Daily management of Stanford Live’s social media channels to support the overall marketing strategy and sales needs. This includes writing post copy, capturing and editing content (including video) when needed, and the scheduling and monitoring of daily social media postings across all channels
Identify, pitch, and develop opportunities to create and capture unique and engaging content
Work closely with artists as well as various internal and external stakeholders to capture and create engaging content. Must be able to work productively with different personality types and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Maintain Stanford Live’s ongoing social media calendar, working to incorporate content to support sales needs while driving engagement and audience growth. Serve as a resource and gatekeeper to other departments seeking to add content to the social schedule.
Coordinate all photography needs for the season
Collect program notes from artists and build out digital programs
Oversee Arts Journalism fellowship program in coordination with the Stanford Daily
Assist with development and project management of paid social campaigns as needed.
Support other members of the marketing team as necessary with related marketing and communications tasks
May supervise interns, entry-level staff, and volunteers.

Please note that this position will be based on the Stanford campus and will be considered hybrid (minimum of 2-3 days/week onsite). Evening and weekends as needed.

In order to be successful, you will bring:

Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Demonstrated commitment to promoting and supporting an environment of diversity and inclusion.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to build lasting relationships and strong communities; customer focus.
Knowledge of the web, technology, social platforms, current and future trends.
Highly organized and creative.
Ability to work independently to meet expected deadlines and schedules.

Specifics about the rewards package for this position may be discussed during the hiring process.

The expected pay range for this position is $66,000-81,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
