About the team

The Platform Engineering team is dedicated to evolving both our products and our modes of customer engagement for the dynamic financial services landscape. Our platform vision is to enable a connected FIS. The full breadth of our offering is unlocked for Institutions, Merchants, eCommerce, FinTech’s and Innovators – powered by platform capabilities built on the latest technologies and design patterns. The team works closely with business, product, and operation teams to accelerate our platform journey. We are looking for hands-on leaders that can drive innovation while implementing industry leading platform capabilities.

 

What you will be doing

The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for the platform. You will work closely with our product management, development and quality assurance teams to ensure that our documentation accurately reflects the functionality and features of our products. This role is highly challenging, yet satisfying, and provides a fantastic opportunity to lead the platform journey at FIS:

  • Create and maintain technical documentation such as developer guides, user manuals, installation guides, and API documentation for our software products.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and quality assurance teams to understand and document product functionality and features.
  • Ensure that documentation is accurate, clear, and concise, and meets the needs of our customers and end-users.
  • Work with development and quality assurance teams to ensure that documentation is up-to-date and reflects the latest product features and functionality.
  • Follow established documentation standards and processes and contribute to the development and improvement of these standards and processes.
  • Participate in product design and review meetings to provide input on documentation requirements and best practices.
  • Manage documentation projects and timelines, and ensure that deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve documentation quality and usability based on customer feedback and usage analytics.

 

What you bring:

 

  • Curiosity and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and complexities
  • 5 years of experience with documenting software and service projects with minimum of 3 years working on API and Integration projects.
  • Significant knowledge of software development and delivery pipelines, software testing, databases and technical documentation.
  • Experience with agile and scrum methodologies and DevOps environments with high degree of automation of CI/CD pipelines, build promotions and code quality testing
  • Skill in evaluating documentation, production and quality control and publishing system operation
  • Skill in understanding and focusing on client needs, establishing credibility and building relationships with clients
  • Skill in editing writing for punctuation, syntax and grammar
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to present to all levels of the organization

 

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Computer Science or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Post-graduate education preferred

 

Added bonus if you have:

  • Experience in financial services and fast-paced innovation team is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of FIS’ products and services.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry or FinTechs.
