Principal Applications Developer [PAD0623]

About the Role:

We are looking for a keen, technically skilled Principal Applications Developer to drive our core case management team, building software applications and support the existing suite of COPFS Case Management Software. The post is based in our Enterprise Applications Team in the Crown Office, Edinburgh.

The Enterprise Applications team has a current head count of 14 members, who are a team of highly skilled developers and architects. Whilst the team members are all working on different applications and deliverables, there is a high level of collaborative working. The team strive to deliver secure, digital cloud based solutions, using the best of industry standards and practices. You can expect to join a friendly, supportive team who are always happy to assist one another when needed.

Your role will involve engaging with internal and external stakeholders to create, develop and innovate our Service and support the ongoing digital transformation within COPFS. It is an exciting time to join us ahead of expected long lasting changes that you will play a role in developing for the team and service wide. You will also meet and work alongside colleagues in the wider Information Services Divisions teams and across COPFS.

The team are currently adopting a flexible approach to working, with many of the team choosing to work 2 days from office in central Edinburgh to benefit from the support and collaboration of their team members. The expectation for the successful candidate is that they would be required to work from office at least once a week or as and when required, and live within a reasonable commutable distance from the office.

The team work closely with external technology partners and cross governmental agencies, and this is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to collaborate as well as understand best practices in the industry. With a focus on your personal development, the successful candidate would have the opportunity to undertake training on programming and cloud based technologies.
